a.  Lucky Us!!  Please don’t forget that you can recycle all your glass at the welder’s yard on the bypass road!! I just drove in and asked the welder if it was ok to add to his stack and he said yes, he can handle any amount in his sandblasting process. Please don’t throw it on the pile, DO just rinse the food out (flies and stink), and drop it off in a box or bag. His shop is just around the first corner up from the bottom of the bypass road, the second driveway, easy. Bring your welding needs to him as well! b.  Capsforcancerbaja just visited the Rehabilitation Center CRIT  in La Paz. It caters to over 600 children and their families. It is a state of the art facility. We as a group donated and distributed caps, blankets, scarves and ponchos to the children at this amazing facility. If you have even one ball of yarn to donate to us we will make more caps. We also distributed a very large donation of bedding, household goods and a TV to Groupo Reto ( for the women with Cancer). Thank you so much to the donors of these goods. The women will be thrilled to open the bags of goodies. Thirdly we made a visit to Casa Cuna and donated full tubs  of handmade caps, blankets and ponchos for the orphans. a.  Warning to dog lovers.
This morning our dog Lexie almost lost her life when she picked up a dead puffer fish on the walking beach in LB. The sharp spines of the fish got lodged in her throat and it was impossible to pull out. Lexie started choking and almost asphyxiated, but miraculously was finally able to swallow the fish whole. Dr. Gretel did emergency surgery this morning to remove it and Lexie is now recovering at the clinic.
I ask everyone who is walking on the beach or anywhere in town, if you see a dead puffer fish on the ground to please pick it up and put it safely in the garbage. You might be saving a dog’s life.
Thank you so much to the wonderful lady on the quad with three kids and two dogs for picking us up and helping us get to the hospital faster. b.  CREDIT CARD DISCUSSIONS:   (1) Suggestion for credit card-debit number theft mitigation.     Since most are cards are chipped now i read about covering up your pin number and I added cover your last couple of numbers with tape.     IE people behind you can be snapping high-resolution photos of your card as you put it in the reader or at atms people set up cameras.    So I put that blue tapes that is removable for painting and you can remove it if needed.   But so far at all ATMs and businesses no problem with having the tape. – dean@mosquitoswithoutborders.com

(2)  The problem is if you don’t have an RFID blocking wallet you’re broadcasting your credit card information to people, even the wrong people. There are devices that collect this information when in close proximity ex. Walking down an isle of a store. Etc.

(3)  Same result, ours was Am Express and charges were to FB advertising, perhaps just trying it out for $15, $35. I suggest cash for Home Depot.  Someone is not playing it straight.

d.  Over the last couple of years i have had difficulty paying my taxes at the municipal office in Los Barriles.  From what i can gather, they changed the tax system or software about three years ago and some property owners were affected with incorrect tax rates.  it appears that i now have 2 properties instead of just one.  I have tried to pay my taxes at the municipal office but each year, this problem still remains, so i have not been able to pay.  Has anyone else had this problem or one like it and if so, can you provide me with a possible solution to this problem?  Thanks in advance. – vlatta@shaw.ca
