With recent heavy rains pooled water is a vector for mosquitoes who carry Dengue Fever , malaria and other problems. If you have standing water try to drain it and if not possible just put small amount of diesel in water and it will disperse and cover with a shiny surface the water. this will kill the larve of the mosquito. We like to keep our 500 liter propane pretty full during hurricane season.  We were down to 70 percent and a truck went by so we thought it would be a good time to get it filled up.  We expected the tank would take about 150 liters.  The vendor was new to us but we had never had a problem before.  They did some weird stuff before filling our tank but I didn’t think anything of it.  Well they said they put in 225 liters which was much more than expected.  I challenged the driver and he showed me that that was what it was.  Lesson learned and I paid.  The company is named ECO Gas.  Just be careful when getting propane from these guys. – renotarich@yahoo.com

16. What an amazing 2021 spring whale season! Thank you from the bottom of our sea loving hearts for coming onboard with Baja’s Awesome Whales & Dolphins. For months guests experienced our beloved Humpback mommas and their babies. On April 11 we had a very rare experience and my first Gray whale here in the Sea of Cortez. In May, lucky guests saw Blue Whales, the world’s largest animal. That same month we saw Orcas and Sperm whales. FIVE species of whales in one month – awesome! And incredibly, myself, Captains Luis and Pepe had a brief sighting of the highly endangered ‘Vaquita’ dolphin in mid April. Enormous schools of our endemic Mobula Manta Rays hopped, skipped and jumped throughout the season. Now included in our trips, we had amazing times diving overboard and swimming with both dolphins and manta rays on our way north to snorkel at the Cabo Pulmo-like ‘Awesome Secret Snorkel Spot’. It was awesome to have all our guests on board and share Humpbacks, Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Sperm Whales, Orcas, dolphins and manta rays on the Sea of Cortez. East Cape Offshore Bisbee- August 3rd -7th 2021. Since 2000 the Bisbee family decided to expand their tournament to the East Cape. Sad News: I wanted to let the group know that Max Maldonado died yesterday from complications of Covid. Max was a long time resident of the area, born in Santiago and living in El Campamento at the time of his passing. He was 62 years old. To many people in the Los Barriles area he was the “tamale man”, selling the tamales his sister Mariana made in El Campamento to tourists and residents on the beaches and roads in and around Los Barriles. To some he was a gardener, land clearer, fence repairman, etc. To us, he was a friend. He will be sorely missed. Chuck and Debbie Whitt
