There are structures, possibly three, anchored near shore (1/4-1/2 mile±) as fish attractors in Los Barriles.  There is one directly off shore of Calle Costa Brava in LB.  Others I have not yet seen.  The structure off Costa Brava consists of a shipping pallet approximately 5-foot square with a small, obscure float.  This structure is very difficult to see and is a major safety hazard to fisherman and wind sports people.  I am not against the creation of fish attractors, however visibility is critical for safety.  These structure(s) need to have a white float or buoy that is clearly visible. ikitebcs@gmail.com

  2. Dog attack!! My little 10lb dog was attacked by a vicious brown pit bull with a purple flowered collar on my street (Barracuda Blvd) 1/6/25. My dog was minding her own business walking two houses down from my house and the dog just ran up aggressively and starting beating her up. I had to kick the dog to get it off my dog.   3. Fireworks create problems for kids w autism, the elderly, and dogs. I have to medicate two of my dogs and they still tremble for hours.  This year there have been random, prolonged fireworks.  In Hawaii 4 people were killed and twenty sent into hospital on New Years for illegal neighborhood fireworks gone wrong.  La Ribera, and San José have made personal fireworks against the law. Response to my New Year’s posting was to say the least, precious. We have two 80+ Pickle Ballers, our dear friend rode across the USA twice in his 70’s, how about a reader winning the  San Francisco Sturgeon Derby. New Year’s Day. One of our readers was 4 years old when Pearl Harbor happened, another life time of emotional memories. And, a Rose Parade participant, “I am only a septagenarian, but I represented the State of Oregon in the 1975 Rose bowl. Our float, “TheQuilting Bee” won the Queen’s Trophy.
