COMMUNITY MARKET this SATURDAY
  1.  Beaches may be crowded this Easter weekend, but there is still lots to do at the Saturday Community Market.  All  you favorite vendors will be there!  The Apron Lady will have a new batch of aprons and all her other items and most of the other vendors will be there too!  So come down and enjoy the Community Market 9am – 12noon at the Laguna Park (behind El Viego restaurant).

Saturday Market in Los Barriles is happy to announce a special presentation by our own local Tekiki Folkloric Dancers on this Saturday, April 8th.  They will start about 9:30am and do several dances!  They will also will have a fund raiser as Tekiki Dancers are raising money so they can buy their own costumes instead of renting them each time they have a presentation.  Come and enjoy the dancing and help them get their costumes!  Beaches may be crowded, but there is plenty of room at the market, so come down and enjoy!!

  1.   The PVC pipe supplying water to our homes and businesses north of arroyo Buenos Aires has been left exposed to the sun since the storm last year, degrading and compromising the quality of our water supply. This is the white pipe on the left side of the road when crossing the arroyo towards the north. SAPA (the water people) have neglected to bury the pipe even after repeated requests to do so. Let’s demand they take immediate action to ensure safe and reliable water. Please contact SAPA at the delegation or call them to express your concerns – 624 141 0742 
  2. Many requests to share answers to my question about legally selling a boat in Baja Sur. Bottom line – consult a lawyer if you want to do it legally as the laws are very complex and can be dependent on your status (FMM, Temp, Permanent). Almost without exception it is required that the vehicle (cars, boats, RV’s, etc) be legally imported (not to be confused with a TIP) and hefty import fees be paid before it can be legally sold in any area of Mexico. However, most people just seem to put a for sale sign on the vehicle and sell it even tho this is not the legal way to do. Your choice! –

  2. Our 5th Wheel trailer has been impounded at the storage yard at the top of the hill. We had current registration, title and FMM, but were told we needed a TIP. We are still doing non-resident title transfers and registration renewals.  We have been bombarded with them recently as many counties in South Dakota have now chosen to no longer process non-residents.  Currently it is taking from when an application arrives in our office until we can process it around 6 weeks.  So yes, we are still taking them but do not be in a hurry for a turn around time as it will not happen.  Please spread the word.
