East Cape Recycling continues its community conservation efforts this Thursday, February 4th from 9.00am – 11.00am at Baja’s Resort at East Cape. Please bring your rinsed/crushed plastics, aluminum, metals & cardboard/paper broken down and bundled (sorry, no glass) to the Recycle Center.  Remember to separate your plastics into 3 categories:  Milk and milky/opaque containers, Clear plastics, Colored plastics and lids.  Covid precaution measures remain in place:  wear a mask, maintain 6 feet distance from others when possible and wash your hands at the spigot. Your donation helps cover the transportation of recyclables to La Paz:  $5 US/$100 pesos is the minimum suggested amount per household/month’s recyclables.  Our program works due to the generosity of volunteers. One hour/month of your time is all that we ask for

Apology…….I honestly believed the Covid-19 web site I have been publishing on the BPE is accurate. I have been corrected. Evidently the source is a lab and the statistics are from that lab only. Plus, I have heard from a couple of sources that there are several cases of Covid in LB. I don’t know how many or how serious but Covid is here so be careful! Also, I hesitate to publish testing information that by the way, starts today to enter the US. Did hear the airport is offering Covid tests.   3. From East Cape Health – Canadian friends: If you have a CONNECTING flight to Canada, your PCR test has to be 72 hours from the time your flight leaves the US for Canada. For example, if your flight from Cabo leaves at 10am but your connection leaves Houston at 7pm, the PCR test has to still be valid for your 7pm flight. ⁣
    Let’s say you have a flight scheduled to leave on Wednesday at 9:30am. If you take your PCR test on Monday at 9:30 am, leave Cabo Wednesday at 9:30am (48 hours later) you may not have your PCR test results yet. You will need an antigen test to get on the plane for the US, receive your PCR test results mid-flight, in time to board your 7pm flight.⁣ Please plan accordingly. We are doing our best to accommodate everyone’s needs but we cannot take responsibility for missed flights. What we have learned is that the USA, not Canada is accepting the covid antigen test. Can be done in 30 minutes with results good for 3 days before travel. PCR test takes longer with more limited places performing the test (La Paz health dept. and Salud Digna)For those wanting the antigen test, an appointment is necessary.
