(1)  You may have already heard but my gardener Oscar told me the police caught 7 Banditos in Buena Vista yesterday.

b.  Lets help the local health care by donating to the Centro de Salud medical clinic repairs project!          (The white building across from Las Palmas).  Dr Ramirez and team spread the word at the Arts Festival and we at Rotary are doing our part – but we need help!  A flood last year rendered the Doctor/nurse sleeping areas now uninhabitable.  The local clinic can get a night/on-call Doctor to service the growing community if we can fix this. c.  East Cape Health Center-A HUGE Thank you to the local LB Rotary and Nevada City Groups for a successful 9th annual Spring Community wide Health Screening. This year we targeted the schools  in Campamenmento, Cardonal, Los Barriles High School and San Bartolo. Over 550 were screened for Diabetes, blood pressure, vision and oral hygiene. Statics impact our Children’s Program as we provide the continued care they all deserve. b.  Four of us visited the cave paintings at Boca del Alamo.  We were greeted by a local youth armed with a rifle, who claimed it was a national park and the fee was $20usd/person.  We told him we had no money with us but had some in the car.  He followed us back down the mountain, and we negotiated the “fee” down to 220MXP.  He was not pleased but accepted it.  AT NO TIME DID HE THREATEN US WITH THE GUN, but its mere presence was intimidating.   I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else, but all should be forewarned.
