RECYCLE TOMORROW – THURSDAY, JAN 6TH! <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s get 2022 off to a clean start by recycling excess holiday packaging, along with the usual recyclables, at Baja\u2019s Resort at East Cape on Thursday, January 6th, 9-11 a.m. – covid vaccinations required to enter the property.  Some types of wrapping paper can be recycled (does it crunch if squished?) but neither foil, glitter-decorated paper nor tissue paper can; these are often made from already recycled material and can\u2019t be further processed.  We’re all trying to do the right thing in keeping our community and planet healthy but some stuff is simply trash and should be put into your own garbage, especially glass.

Please separate your crushed\/rinsed plastics into 3 categories:  Milk and milky style containers, Clear plastics, Colored plastics and lids.  We also accept aluminum (no used foil), metals\/tin & cardboard broken down and bundled.  Your $100 peso donation\/household\/month pays for transporting the sorted recyclables to La Paz.

    4. Dated 1\/1\/22: Security Alert! We live out on Agua de la Costa. On Friday morning (Dec 31st) at 7:45 AM, somebody came through our beach access door and went into our unlocked truck and opened our garage door with the garage door opener. We heard some noise from our beach gate and came out, and evidently scared them away. They stole our garage door opener, a tool bag in the truck and a car jumper battery. They didn\u2019t have time to make it into the garage to take more things. Pretty brazen to do this at 7:45 AM in broad daylight. We have changed the codes on our garage door and driveway gate so the stolen garage door opener is useless. We are now only using small garage door openers that attach to our keychain \u2026.. And no longer leaving a garage remote in the truck. It also appears that we have to keep our truck locked at all times even in our driveway. Just giving everyone a heads up.
