  1.  A Special Tribute to Lazy Daze by Lance Vanagain
    Lazy Daze is and always has been Los Barriles to Me
    It’s hard to put into words what Lazy Daze has meant—not just to me, but to anyone lucky enough to find their way to that sun-washed corner of Los Barriles.
    For me, Lazy Daze wasn’t just a beach bar. It’s been a ritual. A gathering place. A front-row seat to the Sea of Cortez, where toes sank into sand, tacos were chased with cold cervezas, and the hours slipped by in stories, laughter, and the soft thud of a chicken shiting in a board… Winner winner.
    I made friends there. I fell in love with Baja life there. I found pieces of myself I didn’t even know I’d lost.
    Now that it’s closing, it feels like the end of a chapter I wasn’t ready to finish. The kind of chapter you re-read again and again in your mind, even after the page has turned.
    So here’s to the Teo and all the wonderful servers that have worked there, the dogs, the sunsets, and the quiet magic of Lazy Daze.
    You weren’t just a place.
    You were the heart of it all.
    And you’ll always be part of mine.

  2. I try to remind people how harmful plastic water bottles that most people drink from in Los Barriles really are, but usually, people don’t want to make the change to toxic- free containers. Has anyone in Los Barriles researched the big 5 gal think plastic containers that most of us buy our purified water in ? Supposedly, some plastics are OK, and don’t damage organs. rballbob@yahoo.com

  4. Many responses to my question regarding the Intercam bank issue. According to a post on Talk Baja; if you have a U.S. dollar account at Intercam you have until the 17th of July to go in and request they exchange the dollar account to a pesos account. Some folks are opening accounts at different banks. Wise online transfer will not send pesos to Intercam at all. Wise will transfer to BBVA, but you must have an account). Remitly online transfer will send pesos for in-person pickup at BBVA (no account at BBVA required). Comparing rates charged by both, Remitly is best BUT if exchanging over $1000 will take 3-6 business days. WHAT A CAN OF WORMS! filetnrelease@gmail.com
QUESTIONS
  1.  Advice on Starlink RV? We are entering nomad status for 2-3 months per year. Mostly in the US, with annual commutes to LB and back. Probably will be purchasing hardware for Gen3 Starlink RV gear, plus adaptor for 12V RV setup. Once in LB, will have wifi alternatives, so not likely to use it there.
  2. Have heard various reports on what country to buy hardware in, how best to sign up, and what DC/DC voltage booster to use. Any firsthand info or tips appreciated. daxbuddy1@gmail.com
