DISCUSSIONS – ANSWERS – ANNOUNCEMENTS

1.   Another way to notarize:   Ways around the notarization process in Mexico by going to La Paz and using some of the notaries there and then having them verified at an apostille, but that is very expensive. Apparently they charge $100 per stamp at the notary, plus the additional apostille charges. I was told by a US lawyer who knows the process that it is a legal requirement that notaries in Mexico, amongst other countries, must allow notarizations followed by certification at an apostille (see Hague Conference).

4. ALERT, GASOLINE THIEVES, be on the lookout!  They did not hesitate to cut our filler pipe/hose to the gas tank. This happened in the Looney Loop area on Tuesday night/Wednesday night or both.  They siphoned off most of the gas on Tuesday night (18th), then again on Wednesday night as well (got the rest). It was almost a full tank.  Heard from a mechanic that we were the 4th car reporting this problem. – ghulscher2@gmail.com
