Paula Facciolla, age 65, died suddenly on December 13th in Reno, NV while visiting her daughters for the holidays. She was a 30-year-resident of North Lake Tahoe until she was widowed at age 48 when her husband, Don Facciolla, died of liver cancer in 2002. Don and Paula owned and operated Ponderosa Property Maintainance in Incline Village for fifteen years. Paula found a new life with her partner Duane Culbertson (DC) and moved to southern Baja near the town of Los Barriles, Mexico in 2004. She returned frequently to the United States to visit family and friends. Read More…..

c. Safety on the East Cape: Response #1: Do you think a meeting of concerned citizens with new Mayor might help. I for one am concerned for break ins etc as we are gone for 6 months at a time. We will not return until April. We always got the same story in the past that the police have no money for gas etc etc but not even responding to a complaint is bad. Just a thought.
(#2) Police checkpoint was set up in Buenos Aires arroyo tonite (Friday). Gentleman in front of me on a side by side was asked to wear his seat belt. Another behind me on a quad was asked to wear a helmet. Appears to be an emphasis on vehicle safety. Police were very polite.
