a. Marcos & Ivaan, the Father-Son duo from La Paz will resume selling fish on Wednesday from here on out. They will sell their fish in front of the East Cape RV Resort at 9:30am every Wednesday morning.
There was a mix up over the holidays, but everything is back to the normal schedule now.
b. We’re fortunate that his passion runs deep for our East Cape communities as new Mayor Luis Lucero took the helm in Los Barriles at the end of November. Luis was truly the heir apparent for this position, highly endorsed by his constituents from El Cardonal and especially by his predecessor, Delegada Francie Olachea. He comes with great previous experience, having served twice as the ‘Sub Delegado’ of his home community on the north end of the jurisdiction. He loves the environment, the beaches, the mountains, the desert and the people that populate them. He will be at Recycling’s first Movie Night on January 10 to meet his English-speaking community and share a bit about his initiatives. Also, Wednesday afternoons from noon on he is available at the Delegation building to meet with anyone who would like to see him. February 9th WINTERFEST 2019 – For the Love of Mexico / Club Rotario Los Barriles presents its annual WinterFest Dinner and Auction this February 9th with a Valentine’s Day theme, “For the Love of Mexico”. Hosted at La Playa Restaurante on the beach in Los Barriles, WinterFest is our local Rotary Club’s largest fundraiser of the year. Bars open at 5 PM, the Silent Auction opens at 5:30 PM, dinner will be served at 6 PM, Entertainment will start at 6:15 PM and the Live Auction begins at 7:15 PM. All proceeds go to support our community, providing a cafeteria for our primary school, and scholarships for our local graduating students. Cost is only 250 pesos each, which includes a traditional Mexican buffet dinner and a beverage of your choice.
