 The ALMA board is looking for an individual who can strategically lead ALMA from April onwards for a period of two years.  ALMA has undergone a significant change and the incoming President will be expected to deploy their leadership and motivational talents to take the organization to the next level.  Do you have past experience of running a business/organization/non-profit?  Do you have an interest in the welfare of animals?  Are you able to successfully manage a large team of eager and dedicated volunteers?  Can you demonstrate that you are able to effectively juggle a number of relationships in the US, Canada and Mexico?  This role would ideally suit someone who has the skill-set to dedicate to this vital, high-profile community position and ideally (but not essential) the time in Los Barriles to fulfil the remit.  Nominees will be asked to submit two paragraphs on how you envision your role and the strategic management of ALMA moving forward.   Please send nominations and/or the nominee’s two paragraphs to info@almahumanitaria.org

VERY SAD NEWS Long term winter resident of Los Barriles Rebecca Broder lost her battle to cancer and passed away March 2nd. in San Francisco Ca. Rebecca was a very accomplished Pastry Chef in California. Left behind is her husband Paul Broder a very well known and loved windsurfer in our community. There will be a celebration of life for Rebecca when he returns to Los Barriles next January.

d.  LB PREPARING FOR SUMMER: As visitors/winter residents start to leave our wonderful community, please spare a thought for those that are left behind.  Summer is a traumatic time for many dogs and families that remain in LB because their income diminishes and dogs are surrendered, abandoned or sometimes starve.   The good news is that you can help ALMA to get through the tough summer months in FOUR ways – even if you’re not here in town:

1. FOSTERone of our longer-term dogs such as the beautifulFelipe.  Just three months in your care could change his life and bring you companionship this summer while we find his forever home.
