Riviera at the El Toro y Luna building. Although it is months away,
we are asking for your generous donation of stuff you no longer
need, in your homes here in the East Cape. Thank you to those folks
who have already donated to our cause. Capsforcancerbaja is trying
to raise money to purchase yarn. Our artisans donate their time and
talent to make caps, blankets and booties for the sick children in
the hospitals with Cancer and Heart disease. We do not charge them

For those of you who are still in town and others
who have left, we the members of Club de Portivo wanted to give the
community an update on the progress made on replacing the bathrooms
at the old Cancha. We began on May 9th with the destruction of the
41 year old bathrooms and now almost 2 weeks later, the foundation
is in and the walls are being put up! Sadly though, we do NOT have
enough money to complete the project. Our goal is to make the
bathrooms at least functional for the summer sports program in
mid-July. We are continuing to accept donations at Baja Properties
and Los Barriles Property Services, anything you can donate would be
greatly appreciated! In addition Club de Portivo is having a raffle
to raise additional funding for the project. With the help of our
local businesses we are raffling off a luxurious 3 day 2 night
weekend Hotel stay in Los Barriles, this package includes 1 full day
of fishing on the "Bite-Me" sport fishing boat (subject to
availability), 1 hour quad rental, 2 hour guided horseback ride for
two, (or one hour for four) meals from six restaurants throughout
you stay. Estimated value of this package is $1200 usd. Single
tickets are $100 pesos or 6 tickets for $500 pesos. Tickets are
available at Baja Property Services, any member of Club de Portivo,
the registration booth for the El Cardinal fishing tournament, the
El Cardinal Fiesta on May 28th, and at the Buena Vista Fiesta on
June 11th.
DRAWING WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY EVENING JUNE 11TH AT THE FIESTA IN
BUENA VISTA. WINNER NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN!!!
