CHILDREN'S DAY
This Saturday, April 30 th, is Children's Day all over Mexico. Kids will be Celebrated, entertained, and honored at a party at the Los Barriles court. Come at 6pm to watch 5 to 11 year old kids compete for best costumes. At 7pm Begins an open talent show, with singing, dancing, music, and comedy categories. Prizes will be Awarded and the kids 'favorite foods Offered at kids' prices. Twenty pesos each buys a hot dog, pizza piece, nachos, bottled water, or soda. For you parents and adults, twenty pesos will get you a beer Present, and forty pesos buys a glass of wine. Come early, stay late, but come celebrate a day just for the kids, and maybe the kid in each of us too.

REMINDER: Club de Pesca Cabo del Este (East Cape Fishing Club) is hosting the 5th annual Torneo del Dia del Nino (Children’s Fishing Day Tournament) on May 1st.
We need help from our community! If you own a boat please plan to take some children out as your guests. If you have a portable shade structure/canopy (E-Z Up) we could use to help keep the children cool, please bring it to Lazy Daze the day of the event by 11:00am.
Registration for the tournament is Saturday April 30th from 3pm to 7pm. Boat captains and children with their parents should both attend to sign up and receive their tee shirts. We’ll match up captains and children at that time. The registration fee is $50.00 pesos per child.
On Sunday, the 1st, the shotgun start is at 7:00am in front of Lazy Daze and lines out is at 12:00pm with a deadline of 1:00pm to weigh the fish back at Lazy Daze.

Via the Gringo Gazette:  The City of Los Cabos in coordination with the Ministry of Health, has got a blood drive going and has invited the foreign community to help. This is the first shot at this, and Mexicans generally don't have a culture of yanking out their blood and giving it away, so let's show them how we turn out for this stuff.
It all goes down at the Raul A. Carrillo General Hospital April 29 from 7 in the morning.
The requirements for being a donor are: Must be 18 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs, and be in good health. In addition to presenting no cough, flu, headaches and/or tummy troubles.
And lay off the booze for 48 hours before the draw.
You can't have had surgery in the last six months, no tattoos, piercing or acupuncture in recent years, and you can't have epilepsy, hepatitis, AIDS, malaria, cancer, or severe heart disease.
Take an official identification with you and go hungry for a minimum for four hours before.
So, OK? Are you going to give til it hurts? Or give until you run dry? Maybe not on the running dry part.

ANSWERS - DISCUSSIONS

a.  FYI……I just finished driving the bad stretch of road from Champala (north of Guerro Negro) over to the Sea of Cortez coast and then up north thru San Felipe to the US border. There are essentially 30 kilometers of ‘bad/old road’ from the turn-off to where good highway begins again. The second half of these 30 kilos is particularly slow going and one should probably figure on an hour or a bit more for traveling this whole stretch, and even longer if you’re driving an RV. Don’t know as I’d want to drive a large RV over this stretch of road. Gas is available on the coast about 30 – 40 miles past the end of the bad stretch of road. Crossing the border at San Luis heading towards Yuma, AZ took us about 45 minutes.
