CHANGE OF REGULAR MEETING PLACE – ROTARIO DE LOS BARRILES
Commencing February 3rd, Rotario de Los Barriles will meet every
Wednesday at 8am at Carmen’s Café, across the street from Smokey’s.

tenure, for opening earlier than usual one day every week just to

SECOND MEETING FOR OUR CARNAVAL PARADE -
Our Los Barriles Carnaval is being delayed by two weeks this year
but it will be worth the wait. Francis Olachea, Delegada de Los
Barriles, has negotiated a combined Carnaval that will welcome
children from La Paz, including the Queen of La Paz. In order to
include everyone, we are moving our Carnaval to Saturday, February
20th.
Rotary of Los Barriles met on Wednesday, January 27th, to begin
organizing the event and has scheduled a second meeting for Tuesday,
February 16th, at 2:15 pm at the Roadrunner Restaurant. Please relay
this message to others within your group or circle of friends.
Anyone wishing to participate is welcome.
Our Carnaval will proceed along the same route as it has in past
years, only this year it will be much larger. Beginning at the Plaza
across from the Fountains at 4pm, participants will proceed through
town to Laguna Park, where we will have a fiesta with live music and
prizes for the best costumes. This will be a Carnaval unlike any

Additional comment on Tax Refunds from airlines, BPE #2401:
The paragraph mentioned Permanent Residents but this applies to
Temporary Residents as it relates to the fee charged by airlines for
a Mexican Tourist Visa.
If you exit Mexico on a Mexican Visa (as both Perm and Temp card
holder do) you already have a return visa in hand.
You can have the automatic fee for a Tourist Visa on your return
flight refunded by the airline.
Follow the same steps in the previous post.
I believe Alaska Airlines credits your “wallet” rather than give you
a direct credit card refund.
I do this on every trip and simply recall the original email and
forward it with the new flight information. Takes only a few seconds
that way.
Always get the refund.
