Please be aware that the beaches north of town are
sea turtle habitat, and there is no "rescue" program as there is in
town and south. Last month I discovered a turtle nest that had been
run over numerous times; and in the last few days a neighbor has
found several dead hatchlings in vehicle ruts on the beach. This is

The 9th annual Casting 4 Soles shoe give away will be held on
Saturday, February 7th from 7am to 2pm at the Cancha in Los
Barriles. We will be giving away a brand new pair of shoes and a
t-shirt to each person that comes to the event. Casting 4 Soles has
been helping those in need here in Los Barriles for the past 8 years
and it is always a well attended event. Local volunteers are a big
part of making this event go off as smoothly as it has throughout
the years. We are once again asking the local community to help out
on Saturday February 7th from 6:30am to 2pm. Volunteers are needed
to help distribute the more than 3,000 pairs of shoes we will have
on hand. If you would like to take part in this wonderful event,

I'm
sad to announce that Ron Corder passed away in Northridge,
California on Wednesday after a short but difficult battle with
cancer. Ron was instrumental in the early days of the Association de
Artes and contributed generously to various East Cape non-profits.
He established a legacy of beautifully designed C & G Homes in both
the East Cape and Cabo. Ron leaves behind Jim Stangarone, his life
partner of 49 years. Ron was a wonderful friend who possessed a
quick wit and will be missed by many.
