 Lord of the Wind, the largest Kiteboarding competition in Mexico, will be held during the week of Jan 13th through Jan 18th. This will be the fifth year of competition and as always, will be exciting on the water and the parties are legendary. The Rotary Club is working hard to make this years event even bigger and better than ever. LOW has become a mainstay in our community and showcases our beautiful beaches around the world.

Two recent travelers into Cabo airport have been stopped for "importing"
cigarettes. (Two different occasions) They were advised that you cannot bring cigarettes into Mexico and both received HEAVY fines. Be aware travelers.
Both of these were first hand reports.

b.  Car Registration. 

     1)  Many of us have heard that if one holds a Residente Permanente visa in Baja then the foreign plated car they drive in Baja can be impounded and possibly seized because the car does not have Mexican plates. The confusion lies in whether this is true in Baja or just mainland Mexico. Does anyone have concrete information on the subject?
