Rotary News:  As always the folks and friends have opened their hearts and wallets to help the East Cape community recover from a major storm. By donating on line, and in person, to the Rotary Club here in Los Barriles, relief to those affected by Odiel is being distributed and is much appreciated.
     To date funds have been provided to purchase materiel to repair roofs, doors, windows, and exterior walls on 22 homes in the East Cape area. Rotary would also like to thank Armando, for providing the materiel at cost allowing more homes to be addressed.
     Funds were also used to purchase fuel for local companies, that provided dump trucks, loaders and operators, to clean up the piles of debris that remained after the initial clean up.
Additionally 250 blankets were purchased and distributed to seniors in San Jose, and rural areas of the East Cape.
     Other projects are being assessed in the albergues in La Ribera, and Santiago, both of which sustained damage as a result of Odiel. Rotary meetings will resume, on January 7th at Lighthouse Pizza at 8:00, and continue every Wednesday, stop by for a cup of coffee.

Is it passable for a fairly beefy passenger vehicle (Subaru wagon)? Any timing information for that 40 mile (?) unpaved stretch? I was planning on two hours, is that overly optimistic?
