Baja Marionettes is preparing a performance for
your viewing pleasure. We will have the first performance at the
Buenes Aires RV Park, located off the beach access road on Datil
Street .(Btween the two arroyo north of LB) This play will start at 10:00am on Wednesday the 28th of
Dec.. Followed by a performance in Los Barriles, same day, 11:30am
with a location to be determined. I will keep the BPE posted once a

DIF in Los Barriles will be holding their annual
Day of the Kings Fiesta for the local children on Monday, January
9th. They are asking the local community to help them ensure that
every child will get a gift at this event. They will be open from
8:30 - 2:30 starting January 3rd to accept gifts and donations to
buy gifts for the kids. The DIF office is located across from Tio
Pablo's; next to the Cancha.
Criminals have a method of changing the Caller ID
on your phone to reflect the names of Financial Institutions. The
bad guys will call, you will look at the Caller ID and think your
bank is calling. The caller will pretend that your account may be a
victim of fraud. They will ask you to verify/give them account
information. Shortly thereafter you account will be emptied. If
someone calls you concerning any financial information, call them
with a number that you have used and trust!!! I received a computer
generated call from my bank concerning a change in a normal monthly
charge. Instead of verifying with that call, I called the bank. That
one was a legitimate call. Be careful.
Environmental activist, former member of Sea
Shepherd crew from Whale Wars program on Animal Planet, Deborah
Bassett will be holding a private screening of "The Cove" movie. In
the area for just a couple weeks, she will be following the movie
with Questions/Answers regarding the filming of the movie and the
current efforts involved with Marine conservation. This documentary
won an Oscar for best documentary in 2009. There will be no charge,
and a silent auction will held for local products. All proceeds and
donations will be going directly to The Dolphin Project. Showing
will be held Friday December 30th at Palmas de Cortez Convention
room, 6:00 pm. Drink specials and snacks.

Last week we ordered chili rellenos, empanadas
and chicken enchiladas for a dinner party of eight in Los Barriles
from Joaquina Higuera. The food was the best Mexican cuisine we have
eaten and it was ready exactly when we said we would pick it up.
Also very reasonably priced, 400 pesos total. We highly recommend
Joaquina, her phone number is 141-0641. She does not speak English,
so if you need help with the language barrier, you can call Kay

It's been requested that I publish in BPE any info I received about
health insurance while in Mexico. Most of the replys suggested
checking w/ my supplemental insurance for 'emergency' coverage. I
did this and sure enough my supplemental has a $50,000. limit
coverage for emergency type hospital/medical coverage while out of
the US. Medicare does not cover outside US. One person suggested
