article from the New York Times that we thought many here would find

QUESTIONS
a. When we were in Los Barriles last winter we met the sisters
MariZonia and Xochitl (also known as “Gypsy”) who work at the
Cultural Center in San Antonio, near El Triunfo. We promised to send
them a CD of some photos and music at their P.O. Box mailing address
in San Diego. When we got home in April we couldn’t find their
mailing address. We don’t know how to reach them now as we have no
phone number or email address. Does anyone know them, or is willing
to stop at the Center in San Antonio and inquire? If so, please tell
them Bob and Cathryn are looking for the mailing information. Thank
you very much. Please email us a
Cathryn.rice@gmail.com
if you can help.
b. We have a nasty parasitic weed, which pops out of and vines
around the host plant and chokes it. It gets a tiny flower shaped
seed cluster, no leaves, and it is yellowish in color. We believe it
is called dodder. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? It has
appeared on our young citrus trees, bouganvillia, and sesau; many of
which we have removed. It is attacking our sesau "fence" right now,
and we fear it will take over with the growing season upon us.

c. I know that you can't bring full gas cans across the border (into
Baja), but can someone tell me if the following items can be brought
across?
- empty propane tanks?
- power tools like blowers or chainsaws with gas in them, or should
they be run dry?
- insecticides like Roundup?
- bottles of alcohol?
Gracias! edgerety@comcast.net
d. I returned on Alaska Airlines this past week, having checked one
bag. It took a very long time for my luggage to get onto the luggage
belt and now I know why. My laptop's power cord, a small baggies
with cd's and other things are missing. Do I have any recourse? If I
order another cord, can it be sent down here? Any help would be
greatly appreciated!

RESTAURANT and ENTERTAINMENT
a. From the Roadrunner Cafe:
Hey it's almost May the 5th!! That's Cinco de Mayo in the local
lingo kids. Plan on having a nice Mexican dinner at Roadrunner Cafe
followed by our weekly musical cacophony. Last Wednesday, we had
lasagna for dinner followed by over 2 hours of music. The usual
suspects were joined by 3 guest musicians: Ed on harmonica, Rob
vocals and Paul on guitar and vocals.
The dinner menu will be the Mexican combo plate:
1 Chile Relleno
2 Flautas
1 Chicken Enchilada
1 Piece Pollo en Mole (Mole Chicken)
100 pesos
